Eyeliner is one of those details that changes a face instantly: eyes look bigger, the gaze deeper, lashes fuller. The trouble is that drawing a perfect, symmetrical line takes time and a steady hand — and by evening it has often smudged. Permanent eyeliner solves all of that once, for a long time.

Eyeliner or lash-line enhancement — what's the difference?

The two are often confused, but the results differ:

• Lash-line enhancement — pigment goes into the lash line itself, between the lashes. The line is almost invisible, but lashes look much fuller and darker. Ideal if you want the most natural result — "makeup without makeup".
• Permanent eyeliner — a defined line above the lash line, thin or thicker, with or without a small wing. A visible, expressive accent.

They are often done together: the enhancement gives the liner a base, so it looks more complete.

How the procedure goes

2. Numbing — a dedicated anaesthetic product.

4. Aftercare advice — how to look after the eye area over the first days.

The eye area is sensitive, so the specialist works slowly and carefully. Most people find it comfortable to sit through.

Healing and aftercare

• Days 1–2 — the eyelid may be slightly swollen and the line looks darker and thicker than the final result;
• Days 3–7 — a thin crust forms and comes away by itself — don't pick it;
• After about 4 weeks the colour settles, and after 4–6 weeks a touch-up is done if needed.

For the first days:

• no eye makeup or mascara until the area has healed;
• swap contact lenses for glasses for a few days;
• avoid the sauna, pool, sea and direct sun;
• don't rub your eyes or sleep face down.

How long does it last?

Permanent eyeliner usually lasts 2–3 years, sometimes longer — pigment around the eyes fades more slowly than on brows or lips. When the line fades, a refresh is enough.
