Full, groomed, slightly lifted brows have been the most requested look for several years now. Brow gel and pencil don't always achieve it — and that is where brow lamination comes in. It works with your own brows: nothing is added, every hair simply finds its place.
What is brow lamination?
During lamination a special solution is applied to the brow hairs to temporarily soften their structure. The specialist then brushes the softened hairs in the desired direction — usually upwards and slightly outwards — and sets them. The result: brows look fuller and wider, gaps are visually covered, and the shape holds all day without any gel.
Who is it for?
Lamination works especially well if:
- your brow hairs are unruly and grow in different directions;
- your brows look thin or sparse, even though you have enough hairs;
- you love the natural, "brushed-up" brow look;
- you no longer want to spend time styling your brows every morning.
If parts of the brow have no hair at all, lamination cannot fill those gaps — in that case permanent makeup may be a better choice.
How the treatment works
- Cleansing — the brow area is cleaned of oil and makeup.
- Softening — a softening solution is applied and the hairs are brushed into place.
- Setting — a second solution fixes the shape.
- Nourishing — finally, the hairs are treated with a nourishing, hydrating product.
- Tint and tidy — if you like, the brows are tinted and stray hairs removed.
The whole treatment usually takes about an hour, and it is painless.
Lamination, or lamination with tint?

Lamination vs permanent brows
- Lamination works with your own hairs, puts no pigment into the skin, and gradually fades over a few weeks.
- Permanent makeup uses pigment placed in the skin, fills gaps and lasts one to three years.
Many people combine the two: permanent makeup creates the shape, lamination styles the natural hairs.
Aftercare
- for the first 24 hours, don't get your brows wet or put makeup on them;
- during the same period, avoid saunas, steam and sleeping face-down;
- don't use scrubs or peeling products on the brows;
- brush your brows into shape once a day;
- after the first few days, nourish the hairs with a conditioning product — it extends the result and keeps brows healthy.
Frequently asked questions
How long does brow lamination last?
Usually 4–8 weeks. It depends on your hair structure, your aftercare and how quickly new hairs grow.
Does lamination damage the brows?
Not if you keep breaks between treatments and look after your brows. Repeating it too often can dry the hairs out.
When is lamination not recommended?
If you have irritation, a wound or inflammation in the brow area, or if you have reacted to the solutions before. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before the treatment.
Can I have lamination and lash extensions on the same day?
